Indeed, Kolavennu was a many – splendored personality.
But his monumental memorial is his Quarterly Triveni. He was its Founder-editor.
Kolavennu was born on 22nd October 1894 in Narasaraopet in Guntur District, A.P.
He had his brilliant academic career in Guntur, Machilipatnam in Madras.
He practiced as a lawyer for three years. But profession did not suit his literary and artistic temperament .
As a patriot plunged into the freedom movement and courted imprisonment. For some time he was teacher , vice principal later principal at the A.J.Kalasala.Machilipatnam.
Latter he started his journalistic career with Prakasan's Swarajya and then he worked with Katuri as joint -Editor- of "Krishna patrika".
He sponsored Triveni through a saga of struggle suffering and sacrifice . Triveni has been a high class literary cultural and historical periodical .
He was famous for his brilliant editorials. Kolavennu had the unique honor to be remember of composite madras Legislative Assembly, Andhra Sahithya Academy, Central Sahithya Academy, and All India Radio.
He was a brilliant scholar, speaker and writer in Telugu and English.
